Mastiff Dogs

Most people, including dog lovers, are surprised to discover that these muscular animals can make great house pets.

Seeing an American Bandog Mastiff, you will notice his prominent muscles as well as how fit and athletic he looks. Most dogs in this breed are black brindle, but there are some black, blue, red as well as tawny.

Although at first sight he can be a little intimidating, the American Bandog Mastiff possesses an abundance of loyalty and love. He possess an ancestry that is part American Pit Bull Terrier, part Neapolitan Mastiff. There are plenty of variations of this breed, but those developed by two breeders called Swinford and Lucero seem to produce the most stable animals. These particular mastiffs have a reputation for their even temperament as well as being considered outstanding guardian dogs.

These giants dogs just love attention, and they hate to be left on their own - they want nothing more than to be in the company of their owners, to please them, and, of course, to protect them. The Bandog can even get along with other household pets, if, that is, he has been raised from “puppyhood” with them.

There are few particular grooming concerns with the american bandog mastiff. He sheds no more than other dog breeds. Brush him regularly, removing the dead hair, and you should have no problems.

Look after your dog and you will find an amazingly loyal, gentle, and loving companion.
